Last Minute New Year's Eve Outfit

I've only now secured plans for NYE in NYC. After years of Times Square madness, $150+ entrance fees to parties foolishness and all-around NYE craziness in New York I tend to like more "grown-up", quieter and to be quite honest - cheaper - options for New Year's celebrations. This year it will probably be another house party which is quite fine by me.

It's the last hurrah for the holidays and before work starts back up next week. So here's to dressing up fiercely - yet "moderately-priced" - while poppin' some bubbly to 2012.

Investment Piece | Ginger & Liz | $12
Evageline | Via Spiga | $99 (Sale!)
Sam Sequins Cowl Neck Dress | FCUK | $279 (Sale!)
Funnel Neck Capelet | Maison Martin Margiela | $390

Post-Christmas Holiday Sale - Reiss

I may not have gotten everything that I asked Santa for Christmas - although the lovely FH ("future husband") is still on the epic quest to secure my present. In the meantime, I've been checking out the smorgasbord of sales going on.

I have my eye on a few items that are currently on sale over at Reiss (just window shopping for me - I've got a strict budget these days). For those of you who are looking to purchase, yo don't have to feel guilty as these items are all easily transitioned from work to play.

Happy post-Holiday shopping!

Holiday Tipping Guide

Happy Holidays dear readers!

Hope you all received great gifts from loved ones and friends. I sure did!

Ever wondered what was the appropriate amount to give those people who make your life a little bit easier and/or more fabulous? Like your doorman, hairstylist, nanny... there are so many people in our lives that may deserve a special note of thanks, especially around the holidays. But how much is meaningful without you having to break the bank each year?

This iconographic on holiday tipping is a great guide for those living in NYC but even if you don't, it gives you some things to consider when doling out tips during the holidays.
